Apopleptic Chill news? previews?
want some hype? |
|
It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. It was the season of light. It was the season of darkness. It was Post Apopleptic Chill, by Hercules, head of Interactive Fantasies - a name which perfectly describes this masterpiece of ZZT storytelling. Post Apopleptic Chill (PAC) follows a day in the life of a junkie reborn as a thinker in the midst of an XTC-induced haze. | |
PAC is like an
elaborate portrait, and Herc has, with deft strokes of his painter's brush, carefully
constructed every minute detail. Even a normally meaningless scene involving ants is used
by Herc to add to the mood of the story. Your character acts and speaks on his own, so
your place in the story is checking out the details. You can choose to simply follow the
story, and it is a finely crafted story indeed. But you won't get the full experience
unless you check out the details. Looking around the myriad locations in the game will
give you insight into the personality of your and other characters. And of course, this artistic masterpiece looks the part. Each scene is a beautiful picture you can interact with. You'll see the streets, slums, and parks of a fictional San Francisco, all beautifully rendered and accompanied by appropriately moody music by Flatcoat Lab, voight, and viovis. The story is excellent, the art is beautiful, and the music is brilliant. Post Apopleptic Chill is truly a masterful piece of work from Hercules and IF. |
